BucketAre you in a catch 22 situation?

What’s that, you may ask? Its a dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions.

In a certain ocasion there was a situation that the disciples didn’t know what to do. There were over 5.000 men alone, apart of women and children to be fed and there was no way around. You most probably have heard or read about the multiplication that the Lord Jesus performed. Andrew, one of the disciples gave a suggestion.

Give it a glance!…

John 6

(The Message)

8-9 One of the disciples—it was Andrew, brother to Simon Peter—said, “There’s a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish. But that’s a drop in the bucket for a crowd like this.”

He didn’t believe that there was a way out of it. What they had wasn’t enough!…It was a “drop in the bucket!..”

Well the Lord Jesus used exactly that ” Drop in the Bucket” to make the impossible happen.

In a nutshell:

Use your  “Drop in the Bucket”!…Your talents, skills, eagerness and drive to succeed, perseverance, determination, boldness, etc..and above all faith in God’s word!…It will happen!..

Sun with ears

Do you need to see a divine intervention in your life? A miraculous  touch of God?

Miracle:

A wonderful, surprising event or thing. Marvel, phenomenon, rarity, revelation, wonder, prodigy, unusualness, supernatural occurrence.

How does it happen? It’s all about Faith and Authority.

Give a glance top the Holy Scriptures:

Joshua 10:12-13

12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:

“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”

So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.

Joshua had the faith,  to do something unheard, unseen, impossible, crazy and defiant!..Joshua spoke with the Sun as if it had ears!…

The fact is that it happen!..The Sun “heard” Joshua’s voice!…He used the authority, God had given him.

We see similar events when the Lord Jesus spoke with a fig tree, (Mark 11:14); He spoke with the waves (Mark 4:39)! On another event,  God asked Moses to speak with a rock, so water could come forth in the desert. (Numbers 20:8)

There is power in our words!..Use them, to challenge the normal circumstances, to change the unchangeable!..To revert the wrong in to right.

Be bold, audacious and defiant!..Use the authority God has given us, trough His name and start speaking with that “Rock”, that impossible, that hardness. Speak and determine!..

Most certainly water will come forth for you!..

Food for thought:

Job 22:28-29

28 You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. 29 When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!’

God’s Gear

God's Gear

When people go trough problems, difficulties and setbacks they become discouraged, fearful, weary and majority of times they loose sight of their goals. Sometimes people go back, give up and engage on the “Reverse Gear”.

With God there’s no “Reverse Gear”!…Genuine faith doesn’t look to the circumstances. No matter what one keeps on going. If one falls, one get’s up!..

Hence a quote from an Unknown author:

A hero is not one that never falls. He is the one that gets up, again and again, never losing sight of his dreams.

No matter what you go trough, do not engage the “Reverse Gear”, use your faith, live by faith and act by faith!…

Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Romans 4:19:21

(The Message)

“Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said.”

  • Don’t Focus on what you can’t do
  • Don’t survey your problems asking: Why this, why that!…Skeptical questions won’t sort your problem.
  • Don’t give up
  • Plunge in to God’s promisse, embrace it.

You will come up strong, empowered, assertive, bold and courageous, having the certainty that God will do what He said.

The reason why many don’t see God’s promises being fulfilled in their lives is because they tiptoe around it, they never plunge in to it, by obedience, faithfulness, devotion, surrender and total commitment.

No but’s, no if’s, no perhaps.

No tiptoeing please!…

Often I hear people saying: “I have been going to the church and nothing is happening.” Sentences like: “God doesn’t hear me; I don’t deserve; Who am I; I’m a sinner, It’s to hard; I don’t have this; My faith is little; That’s not for me” are just an excuse to justify the lack of  God’s power in their lives.

Isn’t that peculiar? Why then are those that testify about God’s greatness in their lives? What makes the difference?

Well, the difference lies on how you are using your faith: Religiously or Intelligently.

The Religious faith:

  • It’s all about theory
  • Complains about the problems
  • The person is on the comfort zone, no risks whatsoever
  • Fearful and doubtful
  • Accepts mediocrity and life not so bad
  • Gives up
  • No commitment
  • Follows the normal procedures

The Intelligent faith:

  • It’s all bout deeds/Actions
  • Seeks an alternative for the problems
  • Takes risks by faith
  • Bold and courageous
  • Fights to excel in life
  • Perseveres
  • Compromise with God’s word
  • Does the abnormal

Let’s see some examples:

  • Noah that build an ark by God’s commandment and saved his family
  • Abraham that sacrificed his son on the Altar
  • Moses who defied pharaoh and open the red sea
  • Joshua who marched around the walls of Jericho and they collapsed
  • Elijah who defied the profits of Ball and sacrifice the bull on the altar, asking God’s fire from heavens
  • David who fought against goliath and overcame him
  • Queen Esther that enter the king’s presence defying death
  • Blind Bartimaeus who stand up and cried out
  • The paralytic men who go trough the ceiling
  • The hemorrhagic women that touched Jesus garment

Anything common in all this people?

Certainly!….Faith with deeds, actions, obedience and Sacrifice. Doing the abnormal, going against the odds, doing the “Forbidden”.

What kind of faith do you have?

James 2:20-22

20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

For us to understand better the story of this woman, we need to read this first…

Levictus 15

19-23 “When a woman has a discharge of blood, the impurity of her menstrual period lasts seven days. Anyone who touches her is unclean until evening. Everything on which she lies or sits during her period is unclean. Anyone who touches her bed or anything on which she sits must wash his clothes and bathe in water; he remains unclean until evening.

24 “If a man sleeps with her and her menstrual blood gets on him, he is unclean for seven days and every bed on which he lies becomes unclean.

25-27 “If a woman has a discharge of blood for many days, but not at the time of her monthly period, or has a discharge that continues beyond the time of her period, she is unclean the same as during the time of her period. Every bed on which she lies during the time of the discharge and everything on which she sits becomes unclean the same as in her monthly period. Anyone who touches these things becomes unclean and must wash his clothes and bathe in water; he remains

Luke 8

43-45 In the crowd that day there was a woman who for twelve years had been afflicted with hemorrhages. She had spent every penny she had on doctors but not one had been able to help her. She slipped in from behind and touched the edge of Jesus’ robe. At that very moment her hemorrhaging stopped. Jesus said, “Who touched me?”

When no one stepped forward, Peter said, “But Master, we’ve got crowds of people on our hands. Dozens have touched you.”

46 Jesus insisted, “Someone touched me. I felt power discharging from me.”

47 When the woman realized that she couldn’t remain hidden, she knelt trembling before him. In front of all the people, she blurted out her story—why she touched him and how at that same moment she was healed.

48 Jesus said, “Daughter, you took a risk trusting me, and now you’re healed and whole. Live well, live blessed!”

Let us really understand the story of this woman.

This one was a woman, critically ill for 12 years that tried everything to be healed, spent all her money but could not find a solution for her problem. All of us woman, we have our days in a month, can be 5 to 7 days maximum and to be honest are not the days that we enjoy the most, isnt’t it? Now, imagine the situation of this woman who for 4380  days had a nonstop hemorrhage and as we see above, life in those old days were completely different from today.

In her condition she could not go outside, speak with people or have a normal life. She had to suffer in silence, alone and in shame. Imagine 12 years without a social life, no houseguest, no husband, no children, no visits from family. 12 years of never being touch by anyone. No one would stay around her, no one would go where she was and no one would visit her.

Without hope, frustrated, depressed, abandoned, weak, alone, ill, no money, shaking, trembling, fearful…. She recognized her need of being helped and moved by the only thing left in her life FAITH, she overcame everything we can imagine fear, doubts, thoughts, the crowd of people….

One can feel and be helpless, hopeless and all the ess in this life, however there’s ONE thing that we still have got, that no circumstances in this world can take it…Our Faith!…

How brave she was and how I want to imitate her example! In silence, without any word or wanted to call people’s attention she went with the FAITH that only a simple touch in the edge of Jesus robe will change her life forever, and indeed happened exactly as she determined, in the very same moment Power came out from HIM.

If we just touch God thought our faith, imagine what can happen? Ahhhhh, what can happen…..

God is ready for you when you are ready for Him, just stretch your hand and touch Jesus with your faith.

Jesus honored that woman before everybody, before she was rejected and was living in shame and hiding from everybody. He helped her to reclaim her dignity before all.

In front of all the people, she blurted out her story—why she touched him and how at that same moment she was healed. Luke 8:47

Jesus did not ask, but she decided once again to be courageous and say the all story. She assumed before the Lord and before a big multitude, she poured out her private thoughts maybe for the first time in her life

Not only the blood was gone, the shame as gone too.

Her story starts with her being called by “Woman”, but finished with Jesus calling her “Daughter”, what an amazing thing to ear from God, unfortunately few are those that can hear that.

Extinguish It!..

Many are the “Fire’s” that come to our lives in order to consume and destroy us. However there’s a “Water” that extinguishes every single fire- It’s called faith!…

However not any kind of faith… It must be a faith with works, obedience to God’s word, followed by the daily sacrifice that one must make in order to deny his/her desires, cravings and lusts. By faith everything can be bypassed and one can overcome any obstacle or barrier, for there’s nothing impossible for those who believe, isn’t it?

Give a glance on the following verse of the Holy Scriptures, it speaks on how people overcame by using their faith.

Hebrews 11:34

“Quenched the violence of fire (…)”

You have to be a firefighter of faith!…

The heroes of faith, overcame battles, challenges and went against the odds!…Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Gideon, Daniel, David, etc…are just few of the all examples we have got in the Holy Scriptures. All of them had 3 things in common!…They were “Blind”, “Deaf” and “Numbed”. I’m not speaking physically wise rather spiritually.

Bear with me.

If you want to succeed you have to be just like that:

1st- Blind for the circumstances around you. When one wants to conquer something doesn’t matter the adversities, setbacks, etc…You just keep going. Please see the post of the Rule of faith.

2nd- Deaf for the negativity all around you, either by what people say or by the words that come to your mind, doubts, fears, etc…

3rd- Numbed to emotions and feelings. One has to live by faith, meaning, believing in the invisible so that the visible may come to pass.

Hebrews 11:32-34

New King James Version (NKJV)

32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises,  stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

DO YOU BELIEVE? BECOME WHAT YOU BELIEVE!..

Matthew 9:27-29

The Message (MSG)

Become What You Believe

27-28As Jesus left the house, he was followed by two blind men crying out, “Mercy, Son of David! Mercy on us!” When Jesus got home, the blind men went in with him. Jesus said to them, “Do you really believe I can do this?” They said, “Why, yes, Master!” 29-31He touched their eyes and said, “Become what you believe.” It happened. They saw.

Be Blessed in the name of Jesus!…Of course if you Believe!…

Excuse?

Many are those that ask us to define what faith is!.. I came up to a simple rule that will enable you to know if you are using your faith or not.

It’s the rule of: NO MATTER WHAT!…

Living by faith is to see the invisible. It compels you to move forward…

No Matter how many obstacles and set-backs I’m going trough, no matter what I see, I hear, I feel…no matter what people say… or if I have this or that!….

The crippled man, when he heard that Jesus was in a certain place, he went there and for his surprise the place was packed up!…However because he was in faith, no matter what…he had to get inside of the house!…And he did…trough the roof.

We will find many doors shut to us, but those who live by faith will find a way!…NO MATTER WHAT!…

tranquilliser gun  is a non-lethal gun used for capture via a special chemical.Tranquilliser guns shoot darts filled with tranquilizer that, when injected, temporarily sedate an animal or human, so that it may be handled (or captured) safely. The tranquilliser can be a sedative, anesthetic or paralytic agent.

The tranquilizer takes a bit of a time to make effect, the person or animal starts to become dizzy and sleepy, until is out of action and naturally losing all the strength and reaction.

Now, that’s exactly what the devil is doing in order to neutralize the revolt and the action of faith, against all the injustice that we face, specially for those who are children of God!..

People are in a comfort zone, passive, inert and hoping for the best!.. The devil has manage to fire  tranquilizer darts to make people accepting the circumstances. Many are those who are just living day by day, quieted by the problems, setbacks and barriers. It’s like seeing a dog biting your leg and don’t feel any pain whatsoever having no reaction towards it.

Here are the name of those “Tranquilizer” darts:

  • Doubts
  • Fear
  • Complacency
  • Procrastination
  • Narrow vision
  • Acceptance of : “That’s Life!…!,
  • It’s to hard
  • You’ve got enough
  • That’s to much trouble
  • I’m to old for this
  • Life is not so bad
  • It’s impossible
  • Low self-esteem
  • Establishing a parallel with those who are worst.

Those who are of God, are naturally REVOLTED by believing in a God so great and live without the fulness of life that God promised.

Have you been hit by a “Tranquilizer” dart?

People wear amours for thousands of years. Old tribes use to attach animal skins and vegetation around the body when they went to hunt. Warriors from former Rome and medieval Europe used to cover the torso with plates of metal before go to battle. Around 13th century, amours in the Occidental world got very sophisticated. With the right armor, you would be almost invincible.

In the 21st  century the enemies are different…not sparrows and bullets… However we are still in war!…

You know what? We won’t survive with it!..WE NEED A “SPIRITUAL ARMOR!…”

Let me introduce the G.D.A.V-” GOD’S DEFLECTION ARMOR VEST”

Armor is to deflect or neutralize an impact. This armor is made of a special component called Faith and Love.

This armor deflects:

  • DOUBTS
  • FEAR
  • NEGATIVITY
  • BAD THOUGHTS
  • COMPLEXES
  • PREJUDICE
  • HATRED
  • ENVY
  • GRUDGES
  • DEPRESSION
  • PAST
  • GUILTY
  • PRIDE
  • IMPOSSIBLE PROBLEMS
  • TRAUMAS
  • INJUSTICE

Have you got your G.D.A.V?

1 Thessalonians 5:8

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, (…)”

Nest post I will speak about G.D.A.V part II.

Everything in life follows a natural law and there are things that are just the natural course of life. Amidst of this natural course of life and nature we come face to face with many setbacks, barriers, obstacles and sometimes even tragedies.  Now, we have two options:

  1. Accept what is considered the “Normal” and say: “It’s Life!..”
  2. Reject this so called “Natural Law” and BYPASS IT.

Bear with me, and I will explain it better.

If one follows number 1, meaning, accepting things as they are, the tendency is to enter in a comfort zone, resignation and complacency, towards your goals and objectives in life. Why? Because that’s how life is many times, UNFAIR!…There will always be negative things trying to knock our door in Finances, Love Life, Relationships, Health wise, Career, Family matters, Traumas, Fear, Anxiety, Doubts, etc…

Obviously that your expectations it will always be restricted to the normal course of things. Eg. The doctor said there is no cure, the solicitor gave me bad news, I haven’t got the means, There’s no way out, it’s the writhing on the wall,etc..

Now, if you follow number 2, you must use one tool to Bypass that “Natural Law” which is called FAITH.Not just saying I have faith, rather using your faith and determine the impossible in your life. How? Through the word of faith, not based in what you see or feel, or any other negative circumstance!…

We see Joshua used the word and the Sun stood still, Elijah determined and fire came down from heavens, Peter walked upon the waters, Jesus Cursed the Fig tree and it dried,  Jesus said to Jairus’s daughter that was dead: Tálita Cumi, meaning rise, etc..

You can as well BYPASS your “Natural Laws” of life, sickness, negative cycles, “Impossibles” and your “Writings on the Wall”!..

Start doing in now by saying No to this negative situation and fight back with all your strength.
