One of the most beautiful histories in the Holy Scriptures is the one that speaks about Martha and Mary. I would like to share my meditation with you. Let’s learn with them.

Luke 10 ( The Message)

Mary and Martha

38-40 As they continued their travel, Jesus entered a village. A woman by the name of Martha welcomed him and made him feel quite at home. She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen. Later, she stepped in, interrupting them. “Master, don’t you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand.”

41-42 The Master said, “Martha, dear Martha, you’re fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it’s the main course, and won’t be taken from her.”

The Lord Jesus rebuked Martha because she was way to busy to listen Jesus words. Isn’t the way that we do it sometimes? We allow distractions, commitments to divert us from what is really important: Our communion with God.

Spiritual Wax?

Earwax, also known by the medical term cerumen, is a yellowish waxy  substance secreted in the ear canal of humans and other mammals. It protects the skin of the human ear canal, assists in cleaning and lubrication, and also provides some protection from bacteria, fungi, insects and water. Excess or impacted cerumen can press against the eardrum and/or occlude the external auditory canal and impair hearing.

There is a worse wax than the earwax. It makes’s one spiritual impaired, unable to hear God’s voice.

It’s Pride!…The “Spiritual Wax!…”

Pride makes one egoist, over-confident,self-trusting and self-sufficient. Pride makes a barrier to God’s voice because one will refute whatever God teaches, with their own voice.

How do you know if you have Spiritual Wax?

Let’s identify it. Word’s such as:

  • I know it already
  • It’s not for me
  • Later on
  • I’m to busy for that
  • I rely on myself

You must take your “Cotton Bud” to clean this “Spiritual Wax”- This Cotton Bud is called Humbleness. If there is no humbleness towards God, then you know you are “Spiritual Impaired!…”.

Give a glance to below.

Psalm 81:13-16

“Oh, that My people would listen to Me,
That Israel would walk in My ways!
I would soon subdue their enemies,
And turn My hand against their adversaries.
The haters of the Lord would pretend submission to Him,
But their fate would endure forever.
He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat;
And with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.”
