Romans 4:19:21

(The Message)

“Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said.”

  • Don’t Focus on what you can’t do
  • Don’t survey your problems asking: Why this, why that!…Skeptical questions won’t sort your problem.
  • Don’t give up
  • Plunge in to God’s promisse, embrace it.

You will come up strong, empowered, assertive, bold and courageous, having the certainty that God will do what He said.

The reason why many don’t see God’s promises being fulfilled in their lives is because they tiptoe around it, they never plunge in to it, by obedience, faithfulness, devotion, surrender and total commitment.

No but’s, no if’s, no perhaps.

No tiptoeing please!…

Back Seater or Driver?

Most of us have been conditioned to blame something outside of ourselves for the parts of our life we don’t like. We blame our parents, our bosses, our friends, the media, our coworkers, our clients, our spouse, the weather, the economy, our lack of money — anyone or anything we can pin the blame on. We never want to look at where the real problem is — ourselves.

But the real truth is that in majority of the cases ( There are some exceptions) there is only one person responsible for the quality of the life you live.

That person is you.

Majority of the times, is the lack of vision, comfort zone, laziness, complacency, fear, doubts and complexes that are the real hindrance to our success.

It’s like a back seater giving instructions to the driver. Whilst you aren’t grabbing the wheel, you have to go where the driver wants. On the back seat you don’t have full control. Many depend on others for everything, the employer, the government, institutions, etc…The issue is that many times the company you work for goes has to make cuts and you are made redundant!…The economy comes to a “Credit Crunch”, the benefit is removed, etc.. Your “Car” stopped  and you stopped with it!…

Mourning, complaining and crying over it, will not change the situation!… You gotta be the driver!….

When you make decisions, things change. Either you’re instigating the change or you’re waiting for things around you to change. Don’t wait. It’s much better to be in the driver’s seat, as long as you trust your abilities.

You have in your hands the power to produce!… God has made us to his image and likeness. God was a “Producer”. He created things out of nothing!…The same ability was given to men!…

Grab the wheel and be the driver.

3 Steps to be Successful

I would like to share with you 3 steps to succeed in everything you do.

  1. Confidence - Our confidence cannot oscillate, waver. It has to be constant and unshakable.  Trust completely.
  2. Endurance – Perseverance is the word that better describes endurance. life is like a marathone!…We must finish what we started. Keep going even against the odds and you will cross the finish line.
  3. Live by faith - It’s about using your intellect and rational faith upon the word of God rather than in what you feel, see or hear. It doesn’t really matter third-party opinions. I believe because it’s written and God’s word cannot go back empty. Period.

35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

Path to Prosperity II

The 2nd key point for prosperity.

  •  Dare to succeed.

Successful people dare to succeed! It is very common to be afraid of failure at the same time as many people are actually afraid of success.  If we want to advance in our careers we have to dare – taking risks, chances, new challenges and the next steps in the career ladder.

Learning to take initiatives and challenges and to do self-marketing doesn’t come naturally to many people. This is a process that should start with small steps where each outcome would make you stronger and encourage you to take further steps and to dare more. It takes a lot of energy and many “deep breaths” to start with but in time you will get more self-esteem and the process becomes a lot easier.

One must go for  challenge, otherwise will will be stuck in life!…Push your limits, be bold and courageous.

I was thinking about SAS. Who are they?

Special Air Service or SAS is a corps of the British Army constituted on 31 May 1950.They are part of the United Kingdom Special Forces and have served as a model for the special forces of many other countries all over the world.

Do you know their Motto? WHO DARES WINS.

Ask- What is the worst that could happen – would you get NO for an answer? So? You have more chances to get what you want if you ask than if you don’t dare at all.

Change- If you are not happy with the current situation dare to take actions and make a change.

What made David to be what he was? The answer is Goliath!…David was the only on that dared and  challenged the giant.

What happened?

“(…)and it shall be that the man who kills him the king will enrich with great riches, will give him his daughter, and give his father’s house exemption from taxes in Israel.”

Goliath changed David’s life..From a simple shepherd to become part of the royal family and full of riches.

Taking the Bull by the Horns

A “forcado”  is a member of the team that performs the “face catch” of the bull, the final event in a typical Portuguese bullfight. Forcados were usually people from lower classes who, to this day, practice their art through amateur associations.
The “face catch” involves eight “forcados” who challenge the bull with their bare hands. They form a line facing the bull and the caras (front man) eggs the bull on, by “playing” with it and taking steps forward if necessary to get it to charge. Once the bull runs forward the first “forcado” times his jump onto the bull’s head. Once on the bull’s head and holding onto it, usually around its neck, six forcados jump upon the bull in the same fashion as the first “forcado”, piling upon themselves and grabbing the bull while one” forcado” grabs the bull by its tail. The objective is to subdue the bull. The “forcado” who grabbed the bull by the tail (rabejador) is the last one to release the bull after it is subdued. Bull’s horns are covered with a protection of leather to prevent it from injuring “forcados”.
Now that’s exactly what we must do to subdue the spiritual beast-The devil and his hosts. The british expression “Take the bull by the horns”, means to dare, to be courageous, take action, role up the sleeves, be bold, strong, to challenge, to defy and move forward.

The 3 “Voices”

One of the most common difficulties that people have in life, is to distinguish between 3 different “Voices”:

  1. Your own
  2. Evil
  3. Good

All human beings, without exception are exposed to this 3 different “Voices”, and depending which one you will listen, you will succeed or fail in life.

The issue here is, how to distinguish those “Voices”? How to identify what is coming to my mind? Hence, that I’m not speaking about audible voices, rather, thoughts, ideas and inspirations!…

Let’s identify our Own “Voice”:

  • Uses emotions
  • It’s lead by our cravings and desires
  • Doesn’t think in the consequences

The Evil “Voice”:

  • Brings doubts
  • Confusion
  • Division or Separation
  • Cast’s you down
  • Revenge and hatred
  • Fear

The Good “Voice”:

  • Uses your intellect
  • Uplifts
  • Encourages
  • Gives certainty
  • Empowers
  • Confidence
  • Boldness

One must be in a state of spiritual awareness, in order to identify and discern about those voices. They will come when you are by yourself, with friends, family members, colleagues, etc…We must be able to filter what comes in, otherwise we will be polluted and contaminated.

Job 34:3

“ For the ear tests words
As the palate tastes food.”

When you taste something that you don’t like, you just trow it isn’t it? What about those negative “Voices”?

Your Best Weapon.

Everybody knows the Biblical story of David VS Goliath. The army of Israel, was being defied by goliath and all the men were fearful to fight against this mighty men of war.

However a little boy called David said to King Saul: Then David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this philistine.” I Samuel 17:32-33

Now pay attention in the reply of King Saul: “And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this philistine to fight with him; for you are a young youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”  

We can see that people pay more attention to the outwardly conditions rather then the power that lies inside.

Words as:

  • You aren’t able
  • You are week
  • You haven’t got what it takes
  • It’s to hard
  • It’s impossible

These are the words of defeat, negativity and above all lack of faith.

“So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them.(…)”

Saul didn’t believe that David could overcome without his help and his armor!…In other words:  ”You can go but you will need this!…”

Isn’t that what people say: You need to have this or that, otherwise…..you just can’t!.. David quickly realized, that not only he couldn’t walk with it but he didn’t needed the armor to overcome the Giant!…His best Weapon was inside!…

“(…)So David took them off.” – He believed that God would back him up, and deliver him in to his hand.

In a nutshell:

  • Do not depend on outwardly circumstances.
  • Don’t allow your emotions or feelings to deceive you.
  • Use what you have inside as your best tool.
  • Be bold and courageous.
  • Depend on God and He will back you up.

The Mirror

One of the main difficulties that we encounter in life is to be self critic, to look to our mistakes and weaknesses. Often we tend to turn a blind eye to it and try to find a “Escape Goat” in order to justify our failure or underachievement.

Often we see sentences like this: My boss doesn’t like me, my husband doesn’t care, my wife speaks to much, I don’t have this, I lack that, etc…The list is endless. Little do we know that majority of times the answer is right there in front of us!..

That’s it! Do you want to know the reason why we don’t achieve what we are suppose to? Look in the Mirror!..

Let’s stop making excuses for our mistakes and start looking to inside of us!… We will find ( Most of the times) the true way of breakthrough.

Here goes some tips to get you started:

  • Ask yourself: What is in my power to do?
  • What am I NOT doing?
  • Why I’m behaving in such a way?
  • Am I listening more that speaking?
  • Do I accept rebuke and criticism?
  • Am I giving heed to my emotions: Doubts, fear, anxiety, negativity, malice, pride?

I’m pretty sure that the list goes on. Surely we can apply this in every single aspect of our daily lives!…

The Greatest Carpenter

Everyone wants the “Job” done!…Isn’t it? The perfect career, marriage, good family environment, healthy relationships, healing, deliverance from a bad habit or addiction, overall success in all areas of life. Sometimes we can do the job ourselves because we have both the knowledge and the resources to do it. But what to do when we aren’t able to have the “Job” done? When we have used all the resources at our disposal, and still we couldn’t succeed?

Give a glance on the following word of the Holy Scriptures:

Exodus 34:10

 And He said: “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.”

God indeed can work, and work wonderfully!… However He doesn’t work for us, rather WITH US!...He has the tools, the capacity, the skill, that’s why He is: Omnipresent (Can be in all places at the same time); Omnipotent (Almighty, having the infinite power and authority); Omniscient (Having infinite insight and knowledge).

Now and again we ask: God, why this couldn’t be done? Why din’t you answered me? And He replies: ” Indeed I can do whatever and whenever, however I NEED YOU TO GIVE ME THE WOOD, so that I can go there and do my part!..) 

Got it? God needs our wood in order to make the work. What kind of wood are we speaking?

  • An action or attitude towards what we want
  • Perseverance
  • Self-Belief
  • Great vision
  • Focus
  • Overcome circumstantial barriers or setbacks 
  • Get rid of negativity

Are you Patching your life?

Many would like to have the opportunity to enjoy a good life in all the areas of life: Financially, love life, health, family and relationships. When things don’t go as expected, then people look to place a “patch” on it!… Let it be a new Job, relationship, new look, new place to live, new friends, etc… But is this the right approach? Are we going to patch our lives or trying to have a new one? Are we going to deal with life in a superficial manner or go for a complete change?

“ Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old.”

What symbolize this new garment?

It’s the life that God promised you and me would enjoy, a life in it’s fulness. Strength, direction, guidance, balance, self-control, joy, fulfillment, courage, boldness, etc.. The new garment comes trough one way: Getting rid of the old one!..

You can’t patch your old life, trying to have a new one. Otherwise it will tear!… it will go from bad to worst!…

 Here are some tips to do so:

  • Get rid of grudges
  • Forgive, forget and move on
  • Overcome fear
  • Rebuke doubts
  • Let go of  ”Ghosts of the Past”
  • Bypass your failures
In a nutshell: Transformation comes from within, when you lay down a new foundation,when you develop a relationship with God, getting rid of the old stinking and dirty garment, then He gives us a new one!..

The greatest enemy to human potential is your “Comfort Zone”, because it makes people get stuck in to what I call Boredom!..But if you want to improve your life you’ll sooner or later need to step out of that zone.Whether you want to be rewarded at your job, be successful on your own, improve your financial situation, or just feel like you accomplished something, the key is to break out of your Comfort Zone where you will find all new and exciting experiences.

 But what Zone? The same job, salary, life-style or routine, the same looks, depending on income support, the same thoughts of negativity or failure!…

 Here are 7 tips to get out of it!..

  • Overcome Fear
Fear comes in the mind even before you tried something new!..It’s down to the human nature, that always seeks the easiest way. The possibility of failure and rejection play a strong role on people being in the Comfort Zone. You gotta face your fear, if you want to move on in life. You’ll never know unless you try it!…
  • Get Information
Sometimes people make a “Movie” out of a take!.. Perhaps things aren’t as difficult or scary as you imagine! Do a bit of research. Getting some good information can dissipate quite a bit of your fear and nervousness. Networking with people is always a good idea.
  • Take small steps
The first step is always the most difficult. Any task that seems difficult can be broken down into smaller steps. Eventually, your series of small steps becomes your path to the goal.
  • Open your Mind
Being narrow minded is often a good ingredient to be in the Comfort Zone. You have to be open minded so that you can experience new things!…Come out of your “Own World”.
  • Push your Boundaries
Go the hard way, because that’s usually the path to success. Get out of complacency and boredom.
  • Ask
There is power in asking. When you don’t know something ask. Ask to get better, ask to get what you don’t have. One good question, to the right person in the right time can make all the difference.
  • Never be Satisfied 

There is always room for improvement. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? There is plenty of “Field” to be exploited out there.
