Stone

Many times when people go trough hardship, difficulties and setbacks their lives are shatterd by those circumstances. It’s very hard sometimes for that person to get up on their feet, and get on with life!..Many are very emotional, fragile and easily given to feelings and negative circumstances.

Give a glance to the following biblical Scripture:

John 1:40-42

40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ).42 And he brought him to Jesus.

Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone).

Why on earth, Jesus changed Simon’s name to Cephas (Stone)?

Weird? Not at all…Let’s see:

  1. Stone in the bible is a symbol of Jesus (The cornerstone-Ephesians 2:19-22)
  2. Stone is physically strong by nature and therefore hardly broken

That changing of name symbolises a new ID!..That’s it!..A new you, with a strong nature. Bold, courageous , fearless, determined and above all with the character of God.

We see many who say that are believers, yet very fragile and week, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and it’s cravings. The only way out it’s to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is God’s empowerment to makes us strong, just like a STONE.

So your name should be ……Stone!

Want to be like Cephas? Well, seek the Baptism with the Holy Spirit and you will be like him…Oh by the way, see what happens when you “Become” a Stone!..

Matthew 16:18

English Standard Version (ESV)

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

When one starts climbing a mountain, it’s very easy at the very beginning!…One is full of energy and highly motivated to get to the top peek. However after a couple of hours, maybe minutes, the fatigue starts to kick in!…

Many are those that start climbing, nevertheless few are those who finish what they have started!… They become weary, discouraged and eventually they give up. In mountaineering there is an expression called ” Death Zone”, let me explain it.

The “Death Zone”, in mountaineering, refers to altitudes above a certain point where the amount of oxygen is not high enough to sustain human life. This point is generally tagged as 8,000 m (26,000 ft) or plus. Many deaths in high-altitude mountaineering have been caused by the effects of the death zone, either directly (loss of vital functions) or indirectly (wrong decisions made under stress, physical weakening leading to accidents).

The higher you want to go, the harder it is!…And maybe you will have to face the “Death Zone”!… In life it’s not different at all. We keep on climbing, climbing, pushing and pushing and then when things get really hard one gives up!…That meant that you were almost there!…

Perhaps, at this very moment that you read this blog post you are facing your  “Death Zone”….Things are getting harder, maybe on the brink of failure and disaster. You have to keep pushing your boundaries and your limits, sacrificing and sacrificing!…Do not allow your “Death Zone” to prevail, and affect your intellect, by making decisions upon emotions, feelings and doubts.

After you reach the top, the view is awesome and you can see things really small out there!…That’s how God sees our problems!..It’s nothing for Him. However we have to keep on climb and be ready to face our “Death Zone”.

Nearly 4,000 people have climbed Mount Everest since 1953 when Sir Edmund Hillary of New Zealand and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay first scaled it. More than 200 people have died on the slopes of the giant peak.

Isaiah 40:17

“All nations before Him are as nothing, And they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless.”

I would like to share with you 3 steps to succeed in everything you do.

  1. Confidence - Our confidence cannot oscillate, waver. It has to be constant and unshakable.  Trust completely.
  2. Endurance – Perseverance is the word that better describes endurance. life is like a marathone!…We must finish what we started. Keep going even against the odds and you will cross the finish line.
  3. Live by faith - It’s about using your intellect and rational faith upon the word of God rather than in what you feel, see or hear. It doesn’t really matter third-party opinions. I believe because it’s written and God’s word cannot go back empty. Period.

Hebrews 10:35-38

35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

37 “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.38 Now thejust shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Many are those that ask us to define what faith is!.. I came up to a simple rule that will enable you to know if you are using your faith or not.

It’s the rule of: NO MATTER WHAT!…

Living by faith is to see the invisible. It compels you to move forward…

No Matter how many obstacles and set-backs I’m going trough, no matter what I see, I hear, I feel…no matter what people say… or if I have this or that!….

The crippled man, when he heard that Jesus was in a certain place, he went there and for his surprise the place was packed up!…However because he was in faith, no matter what…he had to get inside of the house!…And he did…trough the roof.

We will find many doors shut to us, but those who live by faith will find a way!…NO MATTER WHAT!…

I will share with you some key points that are very important to be successful!…I will speak about the mindset of prosperity. I will helped you to transform a poverty consciousness to one of abundance and wealth. You will learn trough a series of posts to gain confidence and courage to step outside your comfort zone. Today will be the first part.

  1.  Vision
  • Vision is a picture or idea you have in your mind of yourself, your business, or anything this is going to happen. A clear vision helps you pursue dreams and achieve goals; an idea of the future, a strong wish. A vision that is clear will open your mind to the endless possibilities of the future.

A vision will help you to overcome obstacles in the way and helps you hold on when times are tough. A vision that is well defined helps you to focus and create a purpose that becomes your measurement for your success. If you do not have a vision of who you want to be, how you want to succeed or what you want out of life, you begin to lack drive and your life becomes just an order of events.

Ask yourself a question..

Where I’m I going to be in 1 year’s time?

What am I going to achieve in 5 years time?

Doing what I am doing now, what will be my expectations?

One has to “Aim high” or “Raise the Bar”. You gotta thing BIG!…

Many are living here in UK in benefits, average 9 to 5 job, working to pay bills, just to make “Ends meet”. The first step is to let go of that narrow vision and short-sighted way of thinking!..

I will post the next points over the next days!…

A “forcado”  is a member of the team that performs the “face catch” of the bull, the final event in a typical Portuguese bullfight. Forcados were usually people from lower classes who, to this day, practice their art through amateur associations.
The “face catch” involves eight “forcados” who challenge the bull with their bare hands. They form a line facing the bull and the caras (front man) eggs the bull on, by “playing” with it and taking steps forward if necessary to get it to charge. Once the bull runs forward the first “forcado” times his jump onto the bull’s head. Once on the bull’s head and holding onto it, usually around its neck, six forcados jump upon the bull in the same fashion as the first “forcado”, piling upon themselves and grabbing the bull while one” forcado” grabs the bull by its tail. The objective is to subdue the bull. The “forcado” who grabbed the bull by the tail (rabejador) is the last one to release the bull after it is subdued. Bull’s horns are covered with a protection of leather to prevent it from injuring “forcados”.
Now that’s exactly what we must do to subdue the spiritual beast-The devil and his hosts. The british expression “Take the bull by the horns”, means to dare, to be courageous, take action, role up the sleeves, be bold, strong, to challenge, to defy and move forward.

I used to make rock climbing some years ago (16 years passed), so I can tell you a bit of it. Everything is about coordination, balance, strength and precision where your legs and feet are your most important instrument for upward motion. It’s about concentration and overcoming your fears for the void.

One, quickly learns how to use the tiny parts of the rock, that can be used by 4, 3, 2 or even one finger. The same applies to the feet.

Up there, you don’t count on much…just tiny parts of the rock….and off course, the more you progress the more difficulty becomes.

See below picture!

It’s almost nothing that he get’s there to “Graft” in to that rock and climb!…In live, that’s exactly what we need to progress….A tiny thing, opportunity or chance and place ALL OUR STRENGTH ON IT!…

The greatest enemy to human potential is your “Comfort Zone”, because it makes people get stuck in to what I call Boredom!..But if you want to improve your life you’ll sooner or later need to step out of that zone.Whether you want to be rewarded at your job, be successful on your own, improve your financial situation, or just feel like you accomplished something, the key is to break out of your Comfort Zone where you will find all new and exciting experiences.

But what Zone? The same job, salary, life-style or routine, the same looks, depending on income support, the same thoughts of negativity or failure!…

Here are 7 tips to get out of it!..

  • Overcome Fear
Fear comes in the mind even before you tried something new!..It’s down to the human nature, that always seeks the easiest way. The possibility of failure and rejection play a strong role on people being in the Comfort Zone. You gotta face your fear, if you want to move on in life. You’ll never know unless you try it!…
  • Get Information
Sometimes people make a “Movie” out of a take!.. Perhaps things aren’t as difficult or scary as you imagine! Do a bit of research. Getting some good information can dissipate quite a bit of your fear and nervousness. Networking with people is always a good idea.
  • Take small steps
The first step is always the most difficult. Any task that seems difficult can be broken down into smaller steps. Eventually, your series of small steps becomes your path to the goal.
  • Open your Mind
Being narrow minded is often a good ingredient to be in the Comfort Zone. You have to be open minded so that you can experience new things!…Come out of your “Own World”.
  • Push your Boundaries
Go the hard way, because that’s usually the path to success. Get out of complacency and boredom.
  • Ask
There is power in asking. When you don’t know something ask. Ask to get better, ask to get what you don’t have. One good question, to the right person in the right time can make all the difference.
  • Never be Satisfied

There is always room for improvement. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? There is plenty of “Field” to be exploited out there.

“It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult. ” – Seneca
Would you like to add some tips?
