The True Slave

Sin is what makes a person a slave!..Slave of his addiction, sexual desires, lust, grudges, lies, greed, malice, evil eyes, pride, etc.. Slaves have no will of their own. They are literally in bondage to their masters. When sin is our master, we are unable to resist it.

Often we hear people saying that when they want, they  can let go of it!… So, why haven’t them let go yet? The truth is that the more you get involved with sin, the more attached you get with it!…Pornography, drinking, smoking, lying, etc… It all starts with a curiosity, that then evolves in to full commitment. E.g. A person doesn’t commit adultery or fornication over night. It all starts with flirt!..The person get’s deceived by the heart and then becomes unable to resist it. The more you lie, the more lies one has to give to cover up!..

Here are 6 tips to overcome sin:

  1. Take a decision with your mind, not heart.
  2. Flee from it.
  3. Resist the temptation.
  4. Get involved with what is right, truthful, and upright.
  5. Get baptized by immersion to bury your old nature.
  6. Choose the right Master- Lord Jesus

John 8:34

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”

Next post, I will explain the consequences of a sinful life.

I find it ironic that you condemn those who engage in what Christians believe to be sinful behaviour as slaves yet one of the last things you mention is that everyone should choose the right master, Jesus. Does this not seem odd to you? What would you say to those who believe that Christians are actually more similar to slaves than nonbelievers?

      Dear friend,

      Thanks for your comment.

What I wrote about sin, is not a condemnation to nobody, it’s what the Holy Scriptures say. Whether you like it or not, that’s the truth. Everyone is free to do whatever wants, however there are those that don’t live according to the normal standards of this world, and TRUE CHRISTIANS, live by God’s standards and guidelines.
I quite didn’t grasp your consideration on how to choose the right master, Jesus, seems to be odd!… In one thing you are actually right!…True Christians are indeed slaves, but not of sin, rather from the Lord Jesus.

      1 Corinthians 7:22

” For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ’s slave.”

      May God Bless you abundantly.
