The devil’s Yeast

Let’s first understand the process of leavening.

Leavening with yeast is a process based on fermentation. Microorganisms release carbon dioxide, changing the chemistry of the dough.It causes the dough to expand or rise as gas forms pockets or bubbles. When the dough is baked, the yeast dies and the air pockets “set”, giving the baked product a soft and spongy texture.

When we  see a “Puffed” and crunchy bread, we’re being deceived by this small “microorganisms”. What we see is not what is there!…Now, as the yeast changes the aspect and the chemistry of the dough, the same process happens with human beings on a spiritual level.

Evil trows his “yeast” on us to corrupt our relationship with God, our purity and  sanctity. The devil’s yeast wants to change and contaminate our way of thinking, our eyes, our conduct.

  • A grudge
  • Judgmental /  evil eyes
  • Doubts
  • Fear
  • Pride
  • Bad thoughts
  • Negativity
  • Word of discouragment
  • Laziness or complacency
  • Bad friendship
  • Wrong conversations

Sometimes, something that before used to be holy, untouchable, unspeakable, with time  and bad experiences became unholy, common and desecrated.  Evil spirits wait patiently for the day that this “Spiritual fermentation” can happen in our spiritual life.

Beware of the spiritual leaven!…

I corinthians 5:6-8

(The Message)

6-8 Your flip and callous arrogance in these things bothers me. You pass it off as a small thing, but it’s anything but that. Yeast, too, is a “small thing,” but it works its way through a whole batch of bread dough pretty fast. So get rid of this “yeast.” Our true identity is flat and plain, not puffed up with the wrong kind of ingredient. The Messiah, our Passover Lamb, has already been sacrificed for the Passover meal, and we are the Unraised Bread part of the Feast. So let’s live out our part in the Feast, not as raised bread swollen with the yeast of evil, but as flat bread—simple, genuine, unpretentious.”

    So true Pastor.
    We have to be very carefully to not be contaminated with the east of the devil and he use the small things to remove genuine and simple bread than we are to transform us in spongy soft bread that apparently looks appetiser but when you tried taste like poison.

    I noticed recently that I had allowed this kind of yeast to develop and I was glad I was able to identify this after attending 1 of the wednesday services not long ago. The 1st stage of overcomming a problem is knowing you have a problem…

    Very interesting,
    It’s funny how the yeast makes the bread look so attractive and tempting to eat, only to find out it’s just air. But the unleavened looks so plain but it’s very filling.
    In relation to our spiritual lives the devil makes something look so juicy only to find out it’s rubbish. With God everything may not look as attractive but it’s the best.

    We have to be very carefully to not be deceived sometime we see things look nice on the out side but is just like the bread with yeast I don’t want the evil yeast to corrupted my relationship with my God it’s very helpful an very strong thank you pastor.
