Dead Wood

deadwood

Self-sufficiency is a problem that  human kind has!..Everyone thinks that can manage his/her live, in their own way. That’s when the problem starts.

When the person’s life is not bearing good fruits, it’s because one is separated from the things of God.  The branch has to be grafted on the tree, in order to be nourished  by the sap and eventually the fruit will blossom.

Many reach the bottom of the pit, just to realise that fact!..They  can’t make it without God. Their live becomes like “Dead Wood”!…Fruitless, frustrated.

John 15:6

(The Message)

“Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire.”

Let’s meditate and think why there are “Dead Woods” in our live?

In this fast of 40 days, we should identify and cut off all the roots of everything that separate us from God and live separated from those things.

  1. Richard says:

Self-sufficiency (also called self-containment) is the state of not requiring any aid, support, or interaction.

    Like you wrote pr.
people think they can manage thier life in thier own way and expect things to work out how they want it to be.

But the truth is that we cannot, if we did from birth we would of not needed anyone to help us to walk, teach us words or change our diapers or go school or university, if we never needed any support in any way shape or form we would be perfect from birth able to manage and deal with everything.

So the reason why there is dead wood in peoples life is because of not admiting that this mentality does’nt work.

In the 40days i have begun to recognise where i have had deadwood
And go to the God who is Perfect.
Learn from Him and act out his Guidance.
    =Giving him control.

    Example with my finances.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do and he will establish your plans.
So i have been planning ahead but also i have been giving my plans into Gods hands as i go and do something to about it.

Thank you very much for this post.

    Thanks Pr,

This message really highlights how important it us to have wisdom .

When you are seeking this from God you can see that the worst thing you can do is think that you can do things by the strength of your own arm(Self-Sufficient ) ,it’s impossible .

We have to have him in the driving seat directing and guiding us If we think we don’t need God for this our life will be good for nothing(Dead Wood).

    Thank Pastor,

This is true it we don’t allow God to directed our life will never reach anywhere in life, we have to make him the first in our life.

    Thanks pr

This made me realise that without Gods direction and guidence as a person I am bound to make mistakes and end up going in the wrong direction, we need Him to take control of everything we do. Cause if we don’t then we will sooner or later become just like dead wood

    Thank you for sharing pr,
Sometimes we tend to get too relax in our faith and end up using our own strength doing things, however when we fail we remember God. Which it is written (Seek Him First) that mean put him first in everything in our life, we need to be very careful and listen to His voice and direction if He said SACRIFICE do as you told don’t asked why? or I done it last month we live in a world that we are surrounded by problem. In order to be strong and bear good fruits we have to listen and obey the voice of God.

  6. Ruth Najeme. says:

    Dear Pr,
The Lord Jesus Christ says he is the vine and we are the branches. If we are attached to the vine,we would be nurtured by him unfailingly.Life without the Lord Jesus Christ is no life at all because no matter how we want to do things using our own abilities, there would eventually be times when we would not be able; when the weakness, the failures, the set-backs,the betrayals etc puts us down we’ll have no where else to turn to hence ( dead wood). But if we have the Lord we would be able to surface in all what we face,by faith. For he who is in us, is greater than he that is in the world.
    In Faith.
